Question

Sleep mode turns off computer

Jun 10, 2018 10:57AM PDT

I just got a new (Used) computer and when I try to take it out of sleep mode it unsuccessfully tries to turn on twice and then turns on like I had turned it off. I have already tried resetting it and it didn't work. Please help and thank you in advance.

...and we did one of two things. We first tried updating the chipset/motherboard driver, then all other drivers and if that didn't get it done, we simply didn't use sleep mode. For desktops, it's not really a problem but with laptops, we simply turned them off when not in use. Unfortunately, with certain models, especially a few HPs, we couldn't make them work as one would expect.

Hope this helps.

Before putting it in sleep manually shutdown all open apps.

Back it down to a clean desktop.

Now try sleep and then wake.
