Telling the LIE is par for the course now.
There is a company called SkyTruth.org which was started by a guy who originally did oil resource searches using aerial and satellite imagery. Was listening to him on NPR this morning, and he said that the estimates of how much oil being spilled into the gulf is being wildly underestimated by both BP and the US Coast Guard. I won't quote the numbers because I don't accurately recall the figures mentioned.
Here is a link to the satellite imagery they have posted on the web.
From the May 4th image analysis... "Total area covered by slicks and sheen - possibly including some patches of open water - is 3,260 square miles"
