Question

Skype through my Samsung Plasma TV

Mar 12, 2015 3:07PM PDT

Hi,

don't really know where to start, but basically have a Samsung Plasma PS51E531A6M that I want to be able to stream skype to. I have a 19 month old and she tends to be captivated by the TV, so rather than chasing her round the room with an ipad I was hoping I could do skype calls through the tv but not really sure what kit I need for this? Or which route to take? Advice would be appreciated.

Yes sorry I was probably a bit miss leading with my reference to the ipad. I do have one but about to give that back to work as they've just given me a surface pro 2 instead.

For each tablet I find the solution changes.

Answer
Smart TV?

Is this part of the smart tv, lineup? Do you have a smart hub? If so do you have the skype app in the app store? If so download and set up. Does your TV have a built in camera? If not check to see if your TV supports one of the add on Samsung TV web cameras.

If there is no camera, does not support an add on camera, there is no skype app in the app store, there is no smart hub... then no.
