Contact Skymasters and offer to file a complaint with your state Attorney General if they don't honor the original deal. Don't let them wave the "out of warranty" flag at you. You reported the problem within the appropriate time frame (I am assuming). Then follow through if they don't comply. At least you will have the satisfaction, or may join many others. chuck
Ever since signing up for Skycasters $119 per month broadband, all I've had is problems. The gateway, made by Hughes, was defective from the start, but Skycasters wouldn't replace it.
Being an experience component level tech, I opened it and found many blown capacitors. Replaced them and things started working again... for a while. Now, I have to reset (power cycle) the entire system many times a day, each tine taking over a minute to reset.
Their support techs, who many have already left the company, including the service manager, simply won't help.
They say to buy a completely new system for over $800.
This system cost $1800 less than two years ago and has never worked well. I've paid over $4000 for horrible service, bad support and continous lies and insults.
If you're looking for broadband satellite, go anywhere but Skycasters.
They'll promise you the moon and will deliver a big piece of cheese.
