Question

Sky bet invading my desktop.

Jun 14, 2014 1:24AM PDT

Please help. Almost every time I click my mouse on something skybet page comes up. Just before it pops up it says on the top bar something about tracking sync. I am getting a little concerned about this as it is happening when I am on ebay and the national lottery sites.
I have contacted skybet and they said this happens because i have an account with them. This account was closed some time ago but I still get there page constantly. I contacted them again and the said there is nothing they can do about it as that is the nature of the internet.

Invasion etc.

And you have looked into and tried the usual removal procedures? You didn't mention what you are running as an OS so am assuming it is fairly current. The first thing to look at would be programs and features and attempt removal from there, if it is in the list. You'd also want to look at downloads and program files to see if it exists in one of those locations. If it initiates at boot you'd also want to check the start up list to see if it exists there. A little more information could help since it could be created by several things, including a tag along in your browser which might involve active x settings, the site saying it is the nature of the internet is a non answer, there is a way to get rid of the pesky thing it is just a matter of finding where/what it is and dealing with it.

Hi, thanks for reply. I am running windows 7 and also use google chrome. I have looked in my programs and see nothing that shouldn't be there. I have also tried using adwcleaner but it doesn't seem to have worked either. It is actually worse now as coral page is constantly coming up and I have never had any dealings with them.
Would re installing chrome help??

I can't tell what "coral" is.

There was some free versions of Corel apps that could cause a page to go there. I rarely find uninstalling to cure this as an install can leave behind items that we must deal with later.

Here's a Chrome reset I find useful.

Reset Chrome
Jun 16, 2014 12:41AM PDT

Goto the tools/options page of chrome and find the "advanced section", expand it and the reset sw., toggle it to reset back to defaults. It will remove any previous setting, thus you won't have to re-install. If not in the advanced section it will be in the 1st portion of the tools page.

As for "coral page", I see nothing here that directly related to that, what maybe happening is you corrected some malware and now a remnant is posting. -OR- it finally has a chance to post and you get it in reference to something you've installed already, so check again anything that's related to it. Even check the coral website if you like.

SPYWARE etc.

Take a peek at the post Bob Proffitt just posted, one of Grif's links, it could be spyware related and those procedures just may do the trick in this situation, especially IF you don't find it in the lists that I mentioned.

They are of no help...

I'll practically guarantee you if some issue kept SkyBet from taking your bets the problem would be resolved. Since, they're not going to help and give a lame excuse "that's the nature of the internet" is someone to stay away from.

I suggest you check your browser for any toolbar setup and any related skybet setup, delete them. Goto the add/remove segment of your control panel and use that to remove. Further, if this is known malware, google the topic and find any reference and the instructions provided. You can also, use the browser, "reset function" to return to defaults, re-edit homepage and select the search engine you prefer is the typical changes required or verified.

The other posters offered good advice as well if the above doesn't completely remove the malware or threats. One great tool, I have found is using AdwCleaner removal tool, get it and run it.

Answer
reset Firefox

you can do that in the Help Troubleshooting section. Open your router program and change it's DNS to 8.8.8.8 and 8.8.4.4 since that will move you off their DNS system and remove any browser hijack they have installed.
