Hi royeo,
This is Mike from the Norton Authorized Support Team.
Norton Internet Security 2009 was re-designed so that it does not take up a lot of space, but still contains all of the features that were available in Norton Internet Security 2008. The re-design of the product also includes a lot of new and enhanced features to keep your computer even more secure from threats.
The technical support components are installed when you install the product, but are only used when you utilize the ?One Click Support? option, where a technician may need to remote in to your machine to help you resolve any issues you may experience.
For a full list of the features in Norton Internet Security 2009, please visit the product information page below.

To whoever,
I had Norton Internet Security 2008. The main program was (according to "Add or Remove Programs") about 52 MB and then there were two installations of "Live Update" for a total of about 22 MB. Now, with 2009, the main program is about 11 MB and there is a file by Symantec called "Symantec Technical Support Web Controls." I don't know what this program does, (it only gets loaded when NIS09 is installed, so I assume it's related to NIS). It's about 9 MB.
I can't believe a package of size (about) 20 MB can do the job of a package of (about) 75 MB, let alone do it better. Is it magic?
Please tell me if this should be a concern.
Thank you,
royeo
