Sinister lines on my Monitor Screen

by EamonX1 / August 13, 2005 4:19 AM PDT

My system is an Dell Inspiron 4000 (laptop). OS = Windows XP Home Ed.
There is a sinister green line - thin and vertical - about two inches out from left of display screen. A less pronounced line appears about two inches out from right-hand side of screen. The lines remain irrespective of program. They do not show up when I connect to an external monitor. I replaced the
LCD Flex cables 14.4" 625FR. But the problem remains.
I am curious to know what exactly might cause these lines. I also want to remove them without paying Dell an arm and a leg for a new display. Any advice on this.

Help, my PC with Windows 10 won't shut down properly

Since upgrading to Windows 10 my computer won't shut down properly. I use the menu button shutdown and the screen goes blank, but the system does not fully shut down. The only way to get it to shut down is to hold the physical power button down till it shuts down. Any suggestions?
