Single page previews and prints as multiple pages

Mar 24, 2004 9:27PM PST

We have an Windows 98 SE PC. The problem is when a web page is displayed that contains a bar code is printed displays and prints as 20 pages. We have tried this on other computers and it does not do this on them. We have done the following: bar codes fonts are installed; removed and reinstalled IE 6.0 and printer drivers; and performed a spy software search, as well as virus software. I don't think that it is the printer because of the preview. Everything else works fine except for these one issue. Any ideas. Thank you.

How are you selecting the page to be printed?

print icon in IE 6.0 at top?
right click on area and print?

Does your printer utilities / properties / driver provide capability to print selected pages or highlighted area?

Can you print preview to see if it is fact the barcode that is being interpreted as anything other than a graphic and creating all the extra pages?

A possibility would be to use a screen capture plug-in or utility, though there might be some loss in resolution.

Thanks for responding jconner.
The page is printed by File/Print.
I have previewed and it displays as 20 pages. The first item is a page, the bar code is a page and each area is treated as a different page, but not are at the top of the page. I opened the source code, but could find nothing unusual. IF I highlight and print highlighted area it still does the same thing.

With the way it is being handled in preview and the fact that it displays the same way no matter what printer, makes me think that it is not the printer, but something in the OS.

Any more ideas.

Thanks

Thanks, R. Proffitt.

I went to the page and read it. It seems to be the problem. However, those options are greyed out on this print display. Nothing seems to make them active. Do you have any ideaabout what to do to make them active?

Thanks

You'll have to share that web page.

Without it, I can't check it out.

Thanks.

All web pages on this computer do this same thing. This web page appears this same way. No mater what part is selected. I cannot send the bar code page. It is staff's ticket at the site where I am a teacher. Can I share out another page? This page displays the same way on the greyed out areas we discussed. Thanks

Here's a nice list.

The URL Spoof patch looks interesting and could, in my view be a cause.

In short, you may find you'll be downloading IE60.EXE, using IERADICATOR and installing IE 6.0

I don't see a specific article about your issue, but too many near misses and certainly no "do this" to fix.
