Simultaneous wired/wireless LAN connection

by inot1105 / June 23, 2009 2:44 PM PDT

Hi experts,

For ease of connection in my office,
I'm having internet connection via wireless DSL &
for working on our system via wired LAN.

Currently, I can only do to shift from our wired LAN to wireless internet is remove my LAN connection cable, then my pc connects automatically to the wireless internet configured.

I would like though to have the connections working at the same time.
So I can have my emails updated & do work on our handled system via our network LAN.

Is there any configuration, (from system32 file or any) that I can modify to have both these wired/wireless connection working at the same time?

thanks so much in advance for your replies,

Look at

Cheap, easy to use solution.

You asked "Is there any configuration, (from system32 file or any) that I can modify to have both these wired/wireless connection working at the same time?"

I'm going with "No." I've tried to discuss this before but find that people do not want to learn TCPIP networking and after all that they discover that it was not what their cup of tea plus didn't solve the issue.

Thanks so much Bob.

Yep, my work is related to TCP/IP, but getting into the details of it in my pc might not be a good idea.
So, I'll be checking out the link you gave.

Thanks again.

Itt's called multi-homing

It's called multi-homing, and see Bob's comments about it being a giant PITA to set up. So unless you already have a bunch of networking certifications, and if you did you probably wouldn't be asking this question, or just a really deep understanding of TCP/IP networking... It's possible, but just not worth it.

Help, my PC with Windows 10 won't shut down properly

Since upgrading to Windows 10 my computer won't shut down properly. I use the menu button shutdown and the screen goes blank, but the system does not fully shut down. The only way to get it to shut down is to hold the physical power button down till it shuts down. Any suggestions?
