This is something you call the supplier of the system. If they didn't supply the router, remove that so it's all theirs.
Prior to last night, I received digital cable tv and wireless internet service simultaneously without issue. The hardware was configured as follows:
Coax feed to cable modem and separately to DTV reveiver
Ethernet hardwire connection from cable modem to Linksys G router
Coax connection from DTV receiver to DTV
In summary, five components playing well together ? DTV, DTV receiver, cable modem, wireless router and Laptop computer.
I recently upgraded my DTV receiver to a (Charter) HDTV receiver and traded in my dinosaur cable modem for a newer (Charter-Motorola) cable modem.
Now, I cannot connect to the internet via the Laptop while the TV and HDTV receiver are on.. The message I get indicates the wireless network is not recognized. Signal strength as indicated at the Laptop is ?excellent?
Connectivity is retored when the TV and HDTV receiver are turned off.
What gives?
