Simple Tech external drive problem

Feb 21, 2007 12:39AM PST

I have a simple tech external drive. When I was transferring a movie to my external drive the usb cord accidentally came out the computer during the transfer. Now when I turn on my external drive it makes a funny noise for about a minute and nothing happens. Is there a way to fix this? or does this mean it will never work again? Some of the files on my hard drive are very important, is there a way for me to recover my files if nothing else works?

If that drive was in FAT32 format...

It usually means that the volume gets scrambled. It comes in FAT32 since that works with Mac, PC, Linux and more. They do that in spite of the danger because buyers would return the drive as defective since "it didn't work."

Look at other replies where GETDATABACK and ZERO ASSUMPTION RECOVERY is noted. Be aware that if you don't feel it's worth that much to recover the files then that's how much these files are worth to you.

-> Where's the backup copies?

If the do it yourself methods show no promise.

Both programs are available to show what they can do and if they show you can get files back then you can buy the full version.
