General discussion

simple questions but still need help

Jun 9, 2007 8:12AM PDT

So I have two problems that MUST have simple answers. The first one being that my weather monitor on my dashboard, well I have like 5 of them all over the desktop when I click on dashboard. I think my 2 yr old must have got in the computer room somehow. I've tried to delete the extra one's but it won't let me.
The other question is that I forgot my .mac password and I have no idea how to re-enter a new password. Now I can't use ichat and itunes and other things. Please give me some grace if these questions sound dumb but I have never used a mac in my life before I bought this one.

Thank you for any help in advance.

Ok well I figured out the dashboard thing. That is severly cool, but I still can't remember my password. It is the very first one I entered when setting up my computer.

Insert the Restore disk that came with the machine
Restart the computer and hold down the "C" key until you see the spinning gears.
This will start the installer.
On the menu bar, at the top of the screen, you will find a Password Reset utility.
Reset all of the passwords.
Remember the new ones that you put in.
Restart your computer

Start using the new password
