First of all, thanks to everyone posting comments and reviews. It's so usefull for us undecisive people 
My question is if there is any way to wear the Z5 around your neck? That one particular feature is quite important to me (as is long battery life and great sound, of course)

Yes, there is a place at the top of the Z5 where you can attach a lanyard. I wear my Z5 around my neck when I am out walking my dogs, etc.
I just wanted to refer you to www.rivetnow.com. They make a special lanyard headphone (Rivet Rhythm) that would look great with the Z5. You can get it from Compu USA. I use their Mobile Super Treker Belt Loop system and it looks FANTASTIC with the Z5 (I have the silver one). Better yet, you can get this from your local Radio Shack on clearance for only $14.95!
