XP OEM version: May be installed on only one computer. It can't be installed on another computer even after removing it from the first computer.

XP RETAIL version: May be installed on only one computer at a time. May be installed on another computer if removed from the first computer.

XP activation is tied to a computer's hardware profile:

Bottom line: Unless you purchase multiple licenses, there is no legal sharing of the XP disc.

XP OEM can be installed many times on same computer.

Eventually you will require a new COA just like the retail Version.
