Simple 5.1 Decoder and Amp recommendation?

Dec 12, 2004 3:37AM PST

I'm looking for a very simple amplifier that will decode AC3 (5.1) and amplify (say to around 55W/channel) -- that's all, nothing more. An RS232 port for control would be a bonus.

The application is to connect to a PC for a small bedroom home theater. The amp will be stuffed in a closet. All it needs to do is turn on and off, decode AC3, and amplify. I'd like to control through an RS232, or an IR blaster as last resort.
