Silicone Keyboard Won't Lie Flat

Jul 21, 2010 4:28AM PDT

Hi,

Yesterday I bought a flexible, foldable/rollable silicone full-size keyboard for my HP laptop at Bed Bath and Beyond, of all places. Anyway, it connects via USB and works fine. I guess because of the way it was packaged, it won't lie flat. Has annoying large vertical waves/ripples in it that interfere with key presses.

Has anyone had this problem or can anyone suggest a solution? Brand is Sakar. Only cost 14.00, so I'm not too upset, but think it's a neat accessory for a writer like me.

TIA.

Jaina

What's their return policy?

It might just need time to relax after being stressed out in the package. You could give it a few days to see if there's any improvement in its behavior. If after a reasonable training period it won't lie down when you want it to, take it back. Happy

Hi:

Since I had to completely destroy the annoying bubble-type packaging to open it, I doubt they'll take it back Sad

I have an email out to the mfg and when my husband gets home he may have an idea or two.

I think you're right, though - I should wait a bit to see if it will relax. Thanks for the reply.

Try for a little time to place the new kybd. by a sunny window or one that doesn't get intense sunlight for long. That way it speeds-up the "relaxed condition" possibilities quite quickly. Also, I'm sure that's a negative side effect of such a kybd., as being the nature of beast.
