Silencer Alarm System

Sep 15, 2007 1:25AM PDT

We have bought a 1996 Jeep Grand Cherokee that we are just finishing the needed repair work. It has a Silencer Alarm System installed on it and we do not know how it is suppose to work. There is a 'key' in a slot on the bottom of the dash just to the right of the steering column.
At what point are you suppose to remove the key? Is it to deactivate the system or do you take it out when you park and do not want someone to steal the vehicle.

Thanks, bjh 1225
