Anytime a new program is installed, the installer always seem to want to put it into the start menu. the first thing to try is to go into the system config by clicking the start button, then run, type msconfig, click ok. go the start page on the right of the display and uncheck the boxes. This will stop windows from starting these programs when windows load and having to shut them down at shutdown. If the problem stops, you can go back and recheck the boxes 2 or 3 at a time until you find the bad program, if you want to.
