Question

Shutterfly photos on LG OLEG TV are cropped

Jul 30, 2017 8:23AM PDT

Shutterfly photos look good on my new TV using the Shutterfly app on my Roku box. They have the aspect ratio of 16:9, but on the TV they don't show in that aspect ratio, they are cropped on each side. The TV is set to the 16:9 ratio, so that's not the problem. I tried compressing the photos, but that didn't change anything. I'm wondering if it would work with SmugMug.

Did you try resizing them to a 1080p size?

Shutterfly photos on LG OLEG TV are cropped

I tried resizing them to 1080X608 and to 1920x1080 but neither of those worked. The original photo was 5312x2988 and was 5 MB. When changed to 1920x1080 it was 1 MB. All of these looked cropped exactly the same way on my 4K TV. What am I doing wrong?

How to Add Shutterfly App to LG OLED 4K TV
Jul 30, 2017 2:02PM PDT

None of those ideas for changing the aspect ratio worked. But I was able to use the Screen Sharing app on my phone and then open the Shutterfly app on my phone and the pictures show without being cropped on my phone and on the TV. They were the 16:9 ratio. But this is an awkward way to view the photos. Is there a way to download the Shutterfly app to the TV so that I don't have to use Shutterfly through our Roku box?

You have to report it. I don't have a LG TV to test on so I shared what I would try prior to calling it in.
