Shut Down during Windows Update

Sep 7, 2014 10:32AM PDT

Well basically the computer shut down after freezing while trying to install 125 updates, got to 97 and was stuck there after a few days. The model is an HP G62-140US (AMD Processor) Running Windows 7. The hard drive also failed the BIOS diagnostics test... If anyone knows maybe how to fix this, it would be a great help. Thanks in advance! =3

That's so inexpensive! Now my next problem is finding a set of restore disks, but this hard drive should do nicely! xD

While I think I have restore media

It's for the i5 model so it's incorrect on many points. HP.COM should have the orderable but it's part of our setup to create them when we get our PC or backup the drive wholesale for the day we need to restore it.

They Don't =/

They no longer carry the recovery discs. LOL But oh well, yeah. I got this used from a friend who never set anything, so I went to go wipe it and stuff. Then went to install the updates and then wham good old system crash. xD But thanks for all your assistance! Yeah, I wish PC companies just sent the disc with their machines like they used to.

Here is a source for the Recovery set

Computer Surgeons is a trusted site for Recovery Media. And for about $27US, it is the same as what HP would send.

I'll give a look.

I'm apprehensive of third parties but everything is worth a try! Thank you!

There's always Linux.

If you feel the 27 dollars for restore media is too much, there's always Linux. Folk seem to like Linux Mint.
