Dec 23, 2013 1:33PM PST

I run Win XP, SP2, on a Dell Dimension PC. I specifically got Mozilla Firefox Aurora this month. I want to have a secure flash player. Is Shumway secure? Can I install it?How can I install it--I need a tutorial with screen shots or key strokes. Advise.Best wishes for a nice Christmas or Holidays!

Answer
Frankly? No.

There are way too many exploits, malware and more. Your machine doesn't even have SP3 and in a few months, well, that's news for 2013.

OK, can you detail more how any flash player would be more secure? That is, we leak data like the Titanic, Valdez or Kuwait. There's more to this than Flash to be secured.

Since this is in JavaScript it inherits any issue there. If you are looking for airtight security it's time to consider what this means and how far we must go.

--> But I don't want to leave you without hope. So with the flip of the coil I get Tails which will give you Amnesia.
