General discussion

shrinking available space on hard drive

Jan 11, 2006 10:22PM PST

I have a Mac Mini, and the other day I deleted 900+ photos from the hard drive, and emptied the trash can. Before doing this, the hard drive had 23.85 GB available; afterwards, it had 23.65 GB available. The following day, I deleted a few more files, and the space available shrunk to 23.41 GB. And during this time, nothing was added (no new photos, files, applications, etc). What gives?

No, I don't have anything like that at all. Just the programs that came installed on the Mac. I wasn't running anything (other than ''Finder'') at the time, either.
