My daughter is off to a family meeting with her boyfriend. Both his brother and his mother are going to show the pics of their holiday. How nice. She visited Cuba and has 1300 pics! Don't know the details of his.
My daughter didn't really like the idea but could not refuse the invitation, of course.

This reminds me of showing diapositives of our holidays in the 60s on a big screen to everybody 'interested'.
I wonder if we can call it 'progress'.

..... of vacations that nobody else is really interested in watching. Happy

Though many years have passed, I do recall the effort required of us girl friends to behave in a manner acceptable to The Matriarchs (and Patriarchs) in hopes of leaving a favorable impression.

I suspect that the mother wanting to share 1300 photos sends a strong signal that she enjoyed the company of your daughter very much!!!!

and set them up as a slide show for the computer in the corner most of the time. We run them for whoever wants to see, without forcing everyone to watch.

Or once or twice I struggled along to make DVD video slide shows that would play on tv/dvd player. Then we can just run them sort of in the background, stop them and answer questions if anyone happens to notice something and ask.

Help, my PC with Windows 10 won't shut down properly

Since upgrading to Windows 10 my computer won't shut down properly. I use the menu button shutdown and the screen goes blank, but the system does not fully shut down. The only way to get it to shut down is to hold the physical power button down till it shuts down. Any suggestions?
