One wireless to rule them all
"technicians in Ireland are testing a device capable of skipping between incompatible wireless standards by tweaking its underlying code. "
From the New Scientist article:
"The technology promises to let future gadgets jump between frequencies and standards that currently conflict. A cellphone could, for example, automatically detect and jump to a much faster Wi-Fi network when in a local hotspot.'"

WoW. It's their game. What's the controversy.

Drawn Together issue
Viacom SAID it would be free. It really stinks that they can't satisfy the customers.

About WB peer to peer. What's the point of paying a company to go on P2P. I have to let them use my bandwidth AND pay? They haven't been nice enough to me for me to do that. Might as well just buy it.

Quick rant about Mcafee. If you call them and give personal info, they give you your password. I don't think that's right.

Nielsen. This stuff is hard to do. They had to develop a whole new system. Can't interface with these boxes. Have to do it in a way that you can trust. Just won't let us do it

You mentioned how you found AOL to be poorly thought out when you tried using an outdated user name and found you couldn't because it was already in use. Just to let you know, I recently wanted to post something on the buzz out loud forums when I forgot my password. I went through the process of having it sent to my email and followed the procedure for resetting it. When I went back to sign in and it asked for my user name, it said that the name I supplied was already in use. I had to register a slightly different user name to get on the forums.

Here's a breakdown on the Nintendo handhelds: Gameboy-Yayyy!, GameBoy Color-Awesome!, Gameboy Pocket-Yes it's small, small is the new black!, Gameboy Advanced-Great! A leap in the right direction, Gameboy Advanced SP-Hey why didn't you guys just wait and release this instead of the GBA , Gameboy DS-Truly innovative and not just a kids toy, to bad about that backward compatibility thing, and last and very least: Gameboy Micro-Now you're just jerking us around.

Molly - I had a similar issue to your AOL problem with the username being used, but it was within my own company. I used to work for a large pharmaceutical company with many different divisions. Each of those smaller companies had it's own subdomain (eg. ABCD.XXX.COM for company A and EFGH.XXX.COM for company B) for emails, but technically everything was part of the XXX.COM domain. When I transferred from one company to the other (within the same corporation mind you) I expected my "avernon1" username to be maintained. However, they gave me a different one. And what was their response when I inquired why they had just forced me to re-email all of my business and personal contacts to change my email again? You guessed it, because that username was already in use. BY ME!

Veronica - Sadly, I don't have any interesting stories relating to your comments from Friday, so let's just say you're hella cool.

Gabriel in caracas
My name is Gabriel from Caracas, Venezuela. Big fan of your podcast. I just want to express muy frustration with the tech industry. They?re not coming out with anything really revolutionary. It?s more of the same. Nothing that makes a significant change in our lives, like the Internet, or mobile phones, etc.
