VOICE

Michael - friend uses Limewire. He says stuff he downloads is not illegal because the stuff has no license.

Jeff - Shreveport - Two cracked CDs. Is a download equivalent to a backup? Does that extend to 45s etc.

Evan - LA - Idea for child monitoring. Pair of bionic hands and eyeball camera. Send kid to play catch with bionic hands and eyeball while you sit in the house.

Adam - Atlanta - Dean Gray. How does this relate to Weird Al? He uses copyrighted material and parodies it. Is Dean Gray parody?

Bill Hickock - Southern New Hampshire - Telcos degrading sounds like Windows with features only MS knew about. MS had to deal with this right? Does it apply?

Adrian - Phoenix - Audio quality comment. Run a 64 kbps bump sample rate down to 22 Khz.

Jason - (Columbus?) Ohio - Rant about DirecTV and VoiP. Nightmare of customer support. Going to dump DirecTV. (Call quality is poor here)

Dear Mr. Merritt,
We refer to your 'Podcast' of December 9 2005 were you mention that you will be furthering your attempt to patent the word 'the'. We bring to your attention the fact that this word is already under our protection. Any further use by yourself will be subject to all available remedies provided to us under the Patent Act. To prevent any further use of the word by yourself, we recommend the word 'uh', which is open source.

Kevin says Molly was right
Hey guys.... <head hangs in shame>
Ok, so maybe Molly was right. I'm at home using my redeclared favorite Safari browser this evening and I couldn't understand why clicking on the customer service links at LADWP's website would do nothing. They are simple, underlined text links, for crying out loud. I quit out of Safari, tried again and no dice. Launched Firefox and sure enough, it worked straight away.
Is the lesson here that we users must always keep multiple browsers handy on our machines because any given browser breaks over a dozen things? We are left to hope there isn't incompetence overlap so that if one doesn't work, the other one just might. argh...

South Carolina getting into it
message: Hey, this is another lucky listener of yours from the Greenville, SC area. I love the show!!!!
Well the reason I e-mailed you guy/gals is because you had another listener from Greenville (I think her name was "Southern Gamer") talking about possibly buying the new Creative Vision M instead of the new iPod. Well, I would like for you to tell her that if she buys that new creative, shes possibly decreasing the chances of Greenville getting an apple store. Now we dont want that to happen right!!!!!!......So I'm demanding that everybody in South Carolina buy as many iPods and iMacs as possible so that we can get an applestore in South Cackylacky...OK!!!!!!......geeze..get with the program Steve Jobs. Cant you see that Greenville is the next ATL. GOSH!!.....Freakin Idiot.
Well...I'm done ranting on about greenville not having an apple store....But I beg of you to read this post on the next podcast. We cant have slackers like "Southern Gamergirl" or something like that slacking off. We South Carolinians have a duty to follow. I already bought my iPod nano, and mac mini..Now its time everybody in greenville to do the Same!!!!

Somewhat useful

I go to them for the links sometimes, but I think the added typing you are doing for all the comments is more work than necessary. Mind you, if you have the time/energy to do it this way, have at it. I figure most people want the links, to make following up on the show they are hearing.

haha

He's using the notes he types up anyway, and then sends to us. then we add things as are necessary. so it's copying and pasting that he's doing here.

it just so you guys have the links, if you want them!

Great podcast, guys. Love it! Keep it rollin'. And no, Veronica doesn't look like I thought she would. I picture a quiet little round-faced shy girl when I heard her. Not at all what the picture shows.
