Nothing much has changed in the upgrade "mill."

Right around the corner is that "Pro" from Intel and maybe other tweaks. But the only thing that would be nice to see on my list is that next OS. At least I know the cost of that one.

For those that fret about such advances there is one consolation. When the next big thing arrives you'll hear about what will be showing up next.

They are allways coming ut with new things.

The systems out their are battle tested and the new technology will cost more. The industry is moving fast now. Two or 3 years ago we had the first mobile pentium, next we had Duo Core and now it's Duo 2 Core. Thats all in the last 3 years. At least if you go with Core 2 it will be 64 bit and in three years we still have 64 bit processors.

Doubtful.

While I think the next OS will be a nice step forward the problem is that who knows what they may tweak. For instance they could deploy those hard disks with the flash memory augmentation and get a big battery time boost. But that's speculating.

Use of any crystal ball has always turned up hazy views.
