Should I use XP Firewall or Norton Personal Firewall???

by DUKESofHAZZARD / September 16, 2006 5:06 PM PDT

My Norton Personal Firewall 2004 just expired and I was wondering if I should renew my subscription for it or should I uninstall it and use my XP Windows Firewall instead...what to do, what to do???

I have turned on my XP Personal Firewall in the meantime until I get advice about what I should do.

Expert input about this question is greatly appreciated.

The XP firewall only

blocks incoming. Norton blocks BOTH incoming and outgoing which should help you in whichever you decide.

You can browse for some firewalls especially here in Download.com, if you want you can use free firewalls.

Upgrade

I suggest you upgrade to Norton Personal Firewall 2006. Renenewing 2004 does no good, your just paying extra money for no knew things, whereas if you buy the 2006 version, your upgrading to better protection. May I ask what AV you are using?

Paul.

Help, my PC with Windows 10 won't shut down properly

Since upgrading to Windows 10 my computer won't shut down properly. I use the menu button shutdown and the screen goes blank, but the system does not fully shut down. The only way to get it to shut down is to hold the physical power button down till it shuts down. Any suggestions?
