Should I use 1 - 6 MEG line or 2 - 3 MEG Lines

Mar 7, 2009 2:28AM PST

I am considering running a single 6 MEG line instead of the 2 3 MEG lines I currently use.

The broadband connections in our home / home office get quite a bit of use.

We stream the vast majority of our entertainment in through the internet. Raphsody, Netflix, etc....

We have two small businesses operating out of the home though all server technology is hosted

We play alot of online games

We download a fair amount of content off the net.

On the surface it seems the move to 6MEG might be the way to go....Faster download speeds and the single line would be cheaper than two.

However, I am concerned with bandwidth contention. In many cases someone might be steaming a movie while someone else is playing an online game.

Any thoughts, considerations, experiences, or recommendations to share?

Thanks!
