Question

Should I go for this HP laptop please?

Jan 20, 2015 1:19AM PST

I am looking for a laptop on which I can do my photography. I will be putting Lightroom or photoshop elements on it, and would use a flash stick to transfer the finished project to my pc.

I have just gone into Cash Converters and have seen a laptop (HP Pavilion 15"-N278 SA) for £299.99. It has an AMD with windows 8 and 8gb ram with 1TB HDD. The deposit is £60 with £40 fortnightly payments.

Should I go for this deal, or should I look elsewhere?

Many thanks.

I'm going with no. Why?

You noted photo work. http://www.notebookcheck.net/Review-Update-HP-Pavilion-15-n213eg-Notebook.112658.0.html writes "The notebook does not deserve an award for its color representation. Our color measurements prove that the display is significantly bluish, which conforms to our subjective impression."

That's the closest model I could find to see if there was any issue with the LCD.

Since your photo work is important you want to check the Display section of each model at review sites like Notebookcheck does.

will do what you need

it should do everything you need. I could not find anything about its battery. If you are going to depend on the battery when doing photography, then you need to check to see if the battery will will work for you. from the reviews I read, the battery life is not that good and it will be worse for you since photography work uses a lot of resources. this means the battery will drain a whole lot faster than if you will be only reading emails and surfin the web.
