Should I get a Motorola Razr??

Oct 19, 2005 3:40AM PDT

Hello all; I'm looking to get a new phone after a happy two years with my old LG-TM250 from the good old days of monochrome screens. Anyway, I work at Rogers now and I'm not really concerned about the price of the phone I'm getting, but more so the reception, quality of the phone and the features available. I kind of want a Motorola Razr, but I heard they had bad reception, and that you can't see the display when you're outside. Anyone run into problems?
I'm also considering the Samsung P207, which I think looks quite good. Can anyone give me a reccomendation?? Thanks.

I just went through two phones and returned them. The first being the V551 moto...and the 2nd was the RAZR V3. In all honestly I liked both phones. Easy to use unlike what I had read about them.

But I don't know if I can blame it on the phones or Cingular itself??? But the reception was choppy and would break up on both phones. But then I FINALLY after weeks of calling Cingular had them admit to me I was in a bad area which would give me a WEAK signal where I live. I wish they would of admitted that the first time I called about the problem!

Anyway, since the reception didn't seem good with the V551 I took it back for the RAZR as I mentioned...it was MUCH better, but still had some problems with the reception. So we dumped our phones and canceled before our 30 days and our now looking for another carrier that hopefully has better service in our area.

So I am not sure if this helps you? Again, LOVED both phones...but reception was bad at times...only one and two bars all the time on the phone? But the customer service lady did admit we are in a weak area...so I am still NOT really sure if it was the phones or Cingular?

Good luck...

I have a razr using verizion.

We have found that verizion has pretty good coverage and motorola has a rep for better radio recpt than most however they are short on bells and whisss. stuff.

I like the razr it works places my LGVX6000 would not however it is very short on some really great features such as personal voice tags for voice dialing. I see a lot of folks having problems with the
razr however I carry it in my pocket and it is SMALL the direct dial phone book is a joke. You cant erase names or numbers directly as best I can tell and If you have 600 names in your telephone book the direct dial will fill up with a limit. Moto just did not think this through. I would have thought with the late 2005 release to verizion they would have fixed some of the really dumb things.
