Hi, i have been a mac user for some years, but my last imac got some display problems so i decided to buy a new imac, the model is late 2012 (i bought the mac in 2013) 27 inches.
2.9 GHz Intel Core i5,
8 GB 1600 MHz DDR3,
NVIDIA GeForce GTX 660M 512 MB
. This new imac got some problems with the graphic card, luckily this happened during the warranty so the fix the graphic card. And the person says that it happens cause i used the mac in a heavy way.
Im not to much of playing games in the mac, everybody knows that a mac is not the best computer for games but like now im trying to run a game that requires 6GB min and it runs the game in 3-5 fps...
Because i have bootcamp in my mac i tried to install the game in bootcamp with windows, and it runs the game in between 10-15 fps.
Also i notice that my imac takes some time to run programs like mathematica or maple, and some times it dosent response.
So im thinking about a getting a new pc. But i dont know about pc so i friend told me to get a gamer pc. I like videogames but im not the gamer that have multiple 4k monitors. But i want to be able to run new games like the new batman or incoming games in a good quality, also i use programs like mathematica or maple, and probably im going to use (not very often) virtual box.
I have a some options:
