i was watching a business program on CNBC this a.m. they stated that some of the PS3's that were just released in japan has some problems. one of the problems they named was some of the games released for the PS3 wouldn't play in the machine. you know, i think i'll wait about a year, then buy!

Maybe

I think they were talking about the backwards compatibility with PS1 and PS2 games. Some games would not work at all while others were having audio issues. PS3 games were not mentioned as having an issue, but I am sure there will be some issues (as with all system launches). It will be interesting to see how it works out here in the states.

DO NOT buy the smaller hard drive version
Nov 14, 2006 3:49AM PST

If you don't get the 60 gig, you're screwing yourself if you end up buying a PS3. The smaller gig drive is worthless because when you play a PS3 game, it tranfers around 10gig of data ONTO your hard drive...so if you're playing multiple games (like over 3 depending on the game), get read to run out of space fast.
