Question

Should I buy Adobe software from this seller?

Hey everyone. My Adobe software is a few versions out of date and I want a newer version of most of the software but don't want to signup to Creative Cloud so I'm looking at getting a copy of Creative Suite 6 and have found a seller on Ebay here where they're selling it at half price.

When you buy it you don't get an actual DVD copy but a USB with the software + serial. They state

Adobe is moving to a subscription based service named Adobe Creative Cloud. This means the full retail package that customers are used to are no longer being produced. As we are still able to source the serial keys from our Adobe Distributor we offer a Serial Key and USB drive with the Adobe installation files.

These serial keys are for full commercial versions of the software and are not OEM. Customers purchasing the key are entitled to all the same Adobe services offered previously to those purchasing the full retail item.

If this legit then it sounds like a good offer and I'd probably spend the cash but wanted to get your opinion if you think it's dodgy in any way.

Thanks for your help!

"Installation and activation of perpetual software

What is the installation and activation process for CS6 products?

To help customers more easily access their serial numbers, and to confirm they are installing genuine Adobe software, Adobe is implementing new installation requirements for CS6 perpetual products.
What does "perpetual" mean?

Adobe has traditionally offered individual products and suite editions with a perpetual license, which allows customers to use their products for an indefinite period of time. The perpetual license model is different from the new Creative Cloud membership licensing model, where customers pay a fee to use their products on a month-to-month or annual basis.
What are the installation requirements for Creative Suite 6 perpetual products?

The following need to be completed within seven days after first launch of a CS6 product or your software will stop working:

Adobe ID login: Either use an existing Adobe ID or create a new one.
Online activation: This happens silently, in the background.
Online serial number validation: This happens silently, in the background."

So in short, the new activation means that if it's not legit it will fail and you have to deal with it.

If it's not legit...

If it's not legit, how would they be getting away with selling them yet not having any bad reviews on their Ebay page?

Simple.

When bad reviews start, they can shut down, and start a new venture. Old story?
