Should I buy a canon xa10 or a canon gl2 please help!

Hi i'm going to purchase a new camera for filming a short film and i can't decide whether i should get the canon xa10 or canon gl2. the xa10 is hd while the gl2 is not. i've found better deals for the gl2 so far and it has gotten better reviews than the xa10 but hd and sd can have greatly affect video quality. i'm still in high school so i don't plan on buying something that will last me forever but something that has exceptionally good quality and should last me up to college. please respond soon i'm gonna choose tmrrw and only respond if you have either had experience with either of these cameras or both or if you have looked at the features and know which one's features are better. price is a problem for me right now so if someone does find a better camcorder for sale or of equal quality but cheaper please let me know too. thx.
