Question is not should i? but rather, will you?
Have you checked to see if all the drivers you require for your computer and peripheral devices exist from the vendors?

at work and around town (That I'm aware of) who have upgraded and are happy, three reverted in less than the first week, some more in the last month, and a couple are hanging on- gritting their teeth all the way. Only happy spot owners have been the ones who bought new- relatively high end boxes, premium and they are more like 'Not actively displeased' than happy. The only sweet spot was the daughter of a co-worker who gat a huge good deal on a laptop at intro time, got fed up with Vista quickly and put XP on it, runs very very well. Which probably wouldn't apply now as several hardware bits (I've heard) on newest machines (Laptop and towers) have no XP drivers available.
Maybe I don't understand the finer points of Vista, but all I feel is DEPRIVED - I miss Go Back, certain graphics programs and now I can't even play Rhapsody Radio because it doesn't work with Vista.
No "should" involved. XP has the advantage of being a mature, well-supported OS. I haven't found any real problem using Vista on fresh equipment, however.
