General discussion

Should anyone wonder, or care, I have never been censured,

May 30, 2006 1:59AM PDT

put on probation, or anything else here at SE. Mostly it's because I actually understand the TOS and stay inside them. I have lost posts, and been lectured, laughably, about one, to which I replied with the posts of Toni H and EdH as examples of the personal abuse that goes by unremarked and unremoved. I can't even address them for fear of bringing up a locked thread. Please note I have not replied to them, I have only referred to them which goes unmentioned in the TOS. I have raised no specifics of content or even given you enough information to find it assuming you have the same search tools as I.

I particularly enjoyed, however, the removal of a Biblical quotation from the Sermon on the Mount which was posted without embellishment or addition from me. Nobody here saw it because it was gone in a flash. Can't even quote the Bible. Now that's what I call careful monitoring. All you Christians here, be careful what you quote, some parts of the Bible are off limits.

Will I be in trouble if I give the Book, Chapter, and Verse citation? Better not risk it. Doug knows the Sermon on the Mount, do any of the rest of you?

Personal abuse? From ME?

Not hardly....if you have been here as long as you claim you have been, you have seen posts of mine ripping new ones to some members in the past. I've been relatively light on you considering how I really feel about some, if not most, of your posts. You have not gone unnoticed, believe me....and if you are claiming bragging rights regarding your topic first sentence, you won't be getting any 'high fives' or back patting from me any too soon. I would have given you a time out quite a while ago for inciting the boards. You HAVE been warned numerous times via private email, you have failed to mention those.

here is a portion copied and pasted from another post I made in response to you earlier today, Rob:

--------------------------------------
It appears, from your recent posts, that you are feeling angry and/or frustrated. Speaking for myself, I find that this is a state of mind that I fall into on occasion. When I do, I tend to speak harshly or lash out in a manner not like my ''normal'' self. When this happens, I try to stop and apply for the situations that crop up my ''Rule of 5.''

Asking of myself:
Will the issue at hand, or my response/non-response to it, be something that is of great importance in:
5 minutes?
5 hours?
5 days?
5 months?
5 years?

Depending on the truthful answers I can give of ''Yes'' or ''No'' to the above, I will then decide on what action to take regarding the issue (even if that means no action at all).

It doesn't always work. Sometimes my snarky mood will win out, and I will respond/act when I should not. But, oftentimes, just taking a moment to reflect on the ''Rule of 5'' will give me the time needed to stop my mouth or my fingers from reacting in a purely emotional manner.

So maybe it is just slightly possible that the book you need to ''read, mark, learn, and inwardly digest'' from is the one of patience, reflection, and what is really important to spend your time and energy on.

I do truly believe that there is more to you than you often portray here.

Take care, Rob,
--Marcia

IMO, you have crossed the ToS line on more than one occasion (let's be honest, you're not the only one)...and if an email -or a request here in SE- asking you to rephrase a post ISN'T 'being censured' then i'm not sure if we are using the same word...
