shortcut keys..

Sep 6, 2005 8:24AM PDT

hello,

I am unable to find certain keys on the keyboard in order to use shortcuts via the keyboard!!. Sorry ,still new to the mac world.

For example...

1..i want to create a new folder on the desktop ...
so i go to the finder ...and click on file...the drop down menu shows New Folder and the shortcut as "up-arrow (fat) + apple + N". Where exactly is the (fat)up-arrow key on the keyboard???

2. And then below the New folder...there is another option of New Smart folder....for this instead of an "up-arrow" there is another sign ...which is like back-slash (-\)...and more !!
Now where is that key on the keyboard??

thank you in advance

Welcome to the Mac.
The FAT up arrow is the Shift Key.
The other one is the Option Key.

You do not have to use those keys to make the folders, you can just select them in the menu. You knew that though.
