Shortcut icons on desktop

Sep 10, 2011 1:27AM PDT
Anytime I put a shortcut icon on the desktop (as in dragging from a web site to the desktop) it shows up with "@ http". Is there any way of having them show up with the logo from the web site like on a desktop in Windows?

That would likely require that Finder be able to parse HTML in some fashion, and then you start getting into all the issues Microsoft had when they started integrating Internet Explorer and Windows Explorer. Instead of a security exploit being limited to Safari, now we're looking at Safari AND Finder.

There are plenty of things that would be nice to have, but come with some "hidden" side effects that aren't so nice. This would be one of them.

Thanks for the reply, I thought that might be the case, but can always hope.
