short cuts not opening in full window

i have placed a series of short cuts on my desk top ( banks etc )when i open a short cut it does not open in a full window just the top conrol bar. I then have to maximise the window by clicking on the max button.I have just installed IE8 and not sure if this is the cause of the problem. can some one tell me how to get these short cuts to open in full window mode please

Try Internet Explorer Maximizer...

IE Maximizer is a free utility that resolves that common complaint regarding Internet Explorer, all versions. There are alternatives, such as modifying the shortcut's properties, but IE Maximizer is a 'global' solution that resolves the issue with all shortcut rather than forcing you to address each one separately.

Thanks John !! I downloaded ie maximizer and everything is fine now.
I spent hours trying to solve this problem and now its finally solved.
