Short Cord Headphones

Jan 23, 2005 5:31AM PST

I'm going to be buying the remote for my Zen Micro and I need some help. I'm looking for a good quality, relatively inexpensive pair of earbuds with a short cord. The only ones I've found so far that stuck out were the sony mdr-ex71sl, but $50 is borderline for me. Any others I should consider?

The Sony EX51sp is of the same 'in-ear' style ear bud but different design and more colour options. It is cheaper and has the same sound quality.

These headphones are really good. The sound quality is great and the bass is excellent.

In Hong Kong, these earphones cost around HK $ 270 which is about 35 US dollars. Check these earphones out as a good alternative.

EX51sp or E888sp

Depending on what type of music you listen to is important if you were to choose between these two types of earphone.

EX51/71: VERY good bass response (better than E888sp). It is good for RnB, heavy rock/metal and other bassy music. These are the 'in ear' type earphone which are inserted right into your ear canal providing excellent isolation from outside noise (although can be uncomfortable to some people). 6000Hz - 23000Hz

E888: The bass is not as strong as the EX51/71, but the bass and treble is more balanced, and is two dB's louder than the EX51/71. Recommended more for classical, vocal and rock/metal with many guitar solo's. These are the more conventional style earphone.
8000Hz - 27000Hz
