Shockwave Flash

Dec 10, 2003 6:21AM PST

Today, every time I open my Mozilla 1.5 Browser, I get a box that says Shockwave Flash, The plugin performed an illegal operation, You are strongly advised to restart Navigator. I've never had this happen until today. I haven't done anything that I'm aware of, but it' just a little annoying to see this everytime. Short of doing a system restore, is there something else that could be causing this problem? I run XP Home, 512 mb ram and have all my critical updates up to date. Thanks in advance. Karen

Go to Help in your browser and then to About Plugins. Check the version of Shockwave Flash. I believe they are up to 8.x about now. If yours is old I would remove it and download the latest. If the error persists, well need to look elsewhere. I've been fortunate not to have had trouble with them but there are plenty of admonitions about pesky critters that find their way into systems and cause strange problems as well. Good luck but check versions first.

Just checked and version 7 seems to be the latest. 8x is for the full Macromedia package.
