Cindy Sheehan Claiming Police Brutality

"Peace Mom" Cindy Sheehan is so angry that she wasn't allowed to disrupt last night's State of the Union address that intends to file a lawsuit claiming she was brutalized by Capitol Hill police who suppressed her first amendment freedoms.

"I have the bruises and muscle spasms to prove it," Sheehan said, in a message posted to several left wing web sites after she was released on her own recognizance. ...

It goes on to say:

Sheehan also contends she suffered emotional trauma, complaining: "I am so upset and sore it is hard to think straight."

Which kind of hurts her "case" because the record shows that she hasn't thought-straight or otherwise-for quite some time now.

Maybe the Capital Police should have gone ahead and charged her with slander and libel and treasonous behavior in light of her cuddling with Chavez rather than releasing her on her own recognisance.

Sheehan is a real peace of work and I imagine her son would be rather embarassed about her and her idiocy and her demeaning something he willingly made himself a part of.

She is a STRONG ARGUMENT for becoming pro-choice if abortions were allowed to be made retroactive!

It might be true.

There are not enough facts regarding the night's events to say one way or the other at this time.

on the news so far, she was escorted out. I seriously doubt she was 'strong armed' in front of press and tv cameras and all the people there.

If there are any bruises once she exited that room, I would seriously suspect that she was making a scene (typical of her actions so far) and was 'pulled' along by officials getting her out of the building itself.

Publicity and attention is what she seeks, and 'resisting' in front of an audience would give her what she wanted.

Not ONE person on either side interviewed so far has indicated she was brutalized in any way or fashion.

It does happen but

it is unusual for police brutality to take place in front of witnesses. Wait for the follow up.

I agree

In reply to: From what has been said

With the level of media coverage at an event like this it is very hard to believe that:

1. The police would risk their careers to ruff her up, knowing that they are in a fish bowl.
2. The police would be able to find an unmonitored corner to do this in.

Just an opinion, though. Only time will tell.

just like it wasn't stated that she was the one who called herself an "important person". There are facts aplenty and they refute her statements--pictures speak volumes.

I do find it interesting that few have mentioned that Sheehan was treated in the same manner as the wife of Rep. C.W. Bill Young of Florida with the exception that Sheehan was cuffed because she was unco-operative and had to be forcibly removed.

And this one even has pictures of her (Sheehan) SMILING as she was led away.

Do note the position of her arms and hands despite what she said about their being forced behind her back.
"[A Capitol Police] officer ran over to me, hauled me out of my seat and roughly [with my hands behind my back], shoved me up the stairs," she said.

Her lips were moving. Devil

Also interesting beyond Sheehan's lying again is that Drudge has posted a reminder of a similar happening during Clinton's "Police State".

And here in this link she is really moving those lips right under a photo by her good friend Michael Moore that rather clearly shows where her arms really were.

at her side from the time she was taken into custody until she was released, Ed, you're going on the media reports just like everyone else. There are some here that do not hold such reports in high regard in terms of sticking to the facts, so take all those observations of no mistreatment with a grain of salt.

I don't know if she was or was not mistreated. But it is a possibility.

And yet when that same media

In reply to: Unless you were

has anything disparaging to remark/comment on regarding Bush/Iraq/Current Admin, you wave that link as gospel here, Dan.

You can't have it both ways....when pictures show otherwise, too.

Knowing Sheehand's reputation for desiring the limelight, it's not that hard to figure that deliberate resistance, knowing officials would tighten their hold on her causing finger bruising, on her part is 'more than likely' what happened beyond the cameras and witnesses who could easily dispute her version. Protestors know all the tricks to use to further their cause....and the rest of us who lived through them all won't be fooled anymore.

no freaking way is there so much traffic trying to get there that the message is correct.....makes you wonder if he's redirecting the link to that page to make it appear to people that the site really IS that busy.

Brutalized?

In reply to: Sheehan is now claiming police brutality.

As others have indicated, the Capitol Police are not dummies....

Bruises? She could pinch herself or give 'knuckle' hits to herself to cause bruises. I once knew a gal who would bite her inside lip to where it would bleed, then tell the cops her boyfriend hit her.

In the sixties..

In reply to: Brutalized?

if a cop so much as TOUCHED a protester the "police brutality" shout would go up. I suspect some cops figured, "Hey, if we're gonna be accused of it anyway..."

Cindy seems to be trying to relive those days in her delusional fantasies.
