Sharp AQUOS LC-45GD7U

Feb 14, 2006 10:58AM PST

Hello, I am a first time user on cnet. I have been looking and reading around the web for DAYS...! And still have not decided on what to get. LCD or PLASMA. I have been reading great things on both (LCD & PLASMA). I'm thinking coming to a conclusion of getting the Sharp AQUOS LC-45GD7U, for my master bedroom. I'm looking for the advise of the other consumers, that can probably help me decide. Is this LCD any GOOD as any PLASMA. Or can someone recommend me another. I'm looking to spend any where around $3000 - $4500. I want something good where I won't regret.

Thanks in advance for your advise & opinions.

This easly puts you in range for a plasma!!!
The biggest draw back to LCD direct view is the backlamps. LCD TV and PC monitors have cold cathode floursent lamps. How long they last and cost of replacement is still a mistery, not a lot of info out there.
There have been claims of 4000~5000 hours of lamp life and then 40,000 hours by others, who is correct??
Contact Sharp and ask them about this. I tried to cantact several companies last year and got nowhere so I crossed LCD off my list. John

SONY's SXRD sets. Seriously check out these two models: 50'' KDS-R50XBR1 and 60'' KDS-R60XBR1. Wonderful HDTVs. Good Shopping.
