Your situation is a great example of why someone might consider purchasing an extended warranty, especially the third party variety (not ones sold by big box stores). They often will cost less than having to pay for a single part, and cover the entire HDTV for at least a year, sometimes up to 3-5. YMMV. Also, factoring in the fact that many HDTV prices have come down recently, it might be an opportunity to be able to afford the warranty to boot.

I purchased a Sharp Aquos 60" LCD (LC-60C6400U) in December 2013 new in the box. I hung it on the wall in my living room and it has not been down since. September 2015, It started powering off on its own about 5 to 6 minutes after powering on.
It would have a series of power LED blinks that was an indication similar to a trouble code. I contacted Sharp and explained that I knew it was probably out of warranty, but I was appealing to the fact that I never purchased a $1K+ TV with the idea it might not make it to the 2 year mark. If that would have been known I would have avoided the brand.
I also explained that I had diagnosed it from info on the web as most likely it was a power supply board issue and they confirmed it. I pleaded my case for help based on it being an exception if Sharp promotes their product to be a quality product that it should last more than this one did.
I explained I was willing to replace the board myself and they could protect their name and brand reputation by just supplying me with the part. I was told that they would escalate up to see if I could get this kind of help.
I was contacted two days later and was told I am sorry to inform you that we will not be able to offer you any help on this matter except to provide you with the nearest service center and you will have to cover all the cost. I said no thank you and will be trying to get the word out exposing the quality and lack of concern for the consumer.
I have found a used board for $72 from a TV repair shop and should receive in 1 week.
