Your situation is a great example of why someone might consider purchasing an extended warranty, especially the third party variety (not ones sold by big box stores). They often will cost less than having to pay for a single part, and cover the entire HDTV for at least a year, sometimes up to 3-5. YMMV. Also, factoring in the fact that many HDTV prices have come down recently, it might be an opportunity to be able to afford the warranty to boot.
