Sharing Wireless connection ..

Jan 31, 2006 1:47AM PST

Ok so here is what i am trying to set up. My computer has wireless access to a router that i do not have direct access to... I am trying to share the wireless connection from my computer with my xbox by using another router. So basically my computer is connected to 2 Lan's. One through the wireless card..one through the wired card. The wireless network address is 192.168.1.X so i assigned the wired network to be 192.168.2.X . The problem is that when i enable the wired lan connection i can no longer access the internet..its as if it then tries to use the wired lan instead which has no access to the internet.

Info about my network:

Wireless:Assigned by DHCP
ip- 192.168.1.103
subnet- 255.255.255.0
gateway- 192.168.1.1 (router i cant configure myself)

Wired:Assigned by DHCP
ip- 192.168.2.3
subnet-255.255.255.0
gateway-192.168.2.1 (my router)

I have tried windows xp ICS but it still wont give me access to the internet when i have my wired lan connection. Please Help it would be GREATLY appreciated.

other than a lack of patience, may be you are trying to access an Internet connection that is not yours. DHCP is configured from one source (the inacessible router), your second router cannot act the same way. A wireless adapter in the XBox may be the solution, if your neighbor is willing to share more of his/her bandwidth.
