Since the laptop is HDMI and we can see DVI to HDMI and DVI to HDMI adapters and cables the common HDMI switch box looks to be the key item. You'll see these in the HDTV area of the stores.
I have been issued a laptop at work, which is to be used at the office and at home. I also have a personal desktop computer. Due to security measures, I can only access my work VPN via my work laptop.
I would like to use dual monitors for both the laptop (runs Windows 7) and the desktop computer (runs Windows 10). Due to space issues, I would like to not have a second pair of monitors. I would also like to not unplug cables whenever I need to change computers.
I am aware of KVM switches, but they seem to only to support one monitor output.
My laptop has an HDMI port, a DVI port, and a VGA port. My desktop has a DVI port and a VGA port. My monitor has a DVI and a VGA input. I haven't purchased the second monitor yet (will wait until I know which approach to go with).
Any suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks.
