The owner had bought from the refurb department. To them it was new!

A PC that old would have such dust and more.

Or are you digging up old news?

Brand New XPS March 15th 2012
Apr 15, 2012 4:10AM PDT

I understand why you would think this is old News! I have done alot of research and this seems to be a recurent issue with Dell. I had a discussion with Donna Moore at Dell on 3/29/2012 who is a Exe Rep and Senior Analyst who assured me this was made on the date I ordered it which would be 3/15/2012. She is trying to wash this under the table and wants it back so their Quality team can go over it. I want a 3rd party to document findings. Please read link http://www.ripoffreport.com/computer-dealers/dell-inc/dell-inc-dell-computer-frau-f4b0f.htm

I have nothing to hide I have Tag # and shipping invoices etc to prove my claims, the computer sits in a box and has never been used by me!

Thanks for your reading this post and your concern about it being a old issue!!

So it's a warranty issue.

Be sure to take the right actions since it is usually a waste of time posting this across the internet.

It was.

That is what was so frustrating how they deal with the warranty and tried to pass it off as new. Donna claimed it was made on the same day I ordered it 3/15/2012. Its the lies and deception that upsets me and the lack of respect they give to the customer!

Bob, once again thanks. Have a Blessed Sunday!

I would encourage you to speak with Donna Moore.
Apr 15, 2012 4:25AM PDT

It would appear that you are a moderater so I understand your concerns. Please call Donna Moore at 800 456-3355 x 7250361.

I would be interested if she denies any of this because I do have supportting documentation.

Thanks so much for your diligence on this issue. I understand your concerns and I think your doing the right thing by questioning this. In my profession, all my documentation becomes part of a legal record, I always strive to my best for the people I care for!

Legal? I'm out of here.

Best of luck in your legal endeavors.

PS. Why this is not a support/warranty issue.
Apr 15, 2012 4:39AM PDT

The moment you go legal, no one in companies will talk to you outside of the legal department. It's no longer a warranty or support issue.

Re Legal!
Apr 15, 2012 6:23AM PDT

My comment regarding Legal, was in regards to your dilgence as a moderator and supporting that with what I do as a profession in medicine. Everything I write down becomes part of a legal document. Not fully understanding if youre a moderator for CNET and have similar responibilities.

Obviously the conversation wasnt clear sorry!

I am still hopeful that Dell will do the right thing!

How we solved one like this. It was very simple too.
Apr 15, 2012 6:26AM PDT

We had a vendor deliver something other than ordered. It was simple to solve once you knew how.

Since it was on a credit card, we called up the CC company and explained the goods were not as they should have been so we wanted to refuse the charge and return the goods.

Sort of a forced do-over. If you are posting in forums, you may be in the wrong place to get this fixed.
