Shared files from Laptop does not show on Desktop

by Earl_1942 / May 26, 2008 12:18 PM PDT

I have a wired desktop (XP Home, IE 7)and a wireless Laptop (XP Home, IE 7) via a Linksys router and a DSL high speed modem. The file folders I have checked to share on the laptop does not show up on desktop when I open My Network Places. The ones I have shared on desktop does show up on laptop in My Network Places. If I click View Network Computers on either machine, both computers show up. The connections are good and I can get on internet on either PC. Why are the shared files on laptop not showing on desktop.

Has this ever worked?

If so, what have you changed, and you might try a System Restore. If not, do both the comuters have the same network name?

Problem with file sharing is now taken care of. Just had to do a little more tweaking on the network.

Help, my PC with Windows 10 won't shut down properly

Since upgrading to Windows 10 my computer won't shut down properly. I use the menu button shutdown and the screen goes blank, but the system does not fully shut down. The only way to get it to shut down is to hold the physical power button down till it shuts down. Any suggestions?
