Get A Router

Get a WIRELESS router. I recommend the Linksys brand with speedbooster having used it my self with no issues. Hook this up to the main (one with broadband connection) computer. Are your other comps desktops or laptops you didn't specify. Do the laptops have wireless capability already? where are the other computers in relation to the main system? Are you using XP home or Pro?

Router and adapter...
Jan 29, 2006 9:47AM PST

First you'll need to get a wireless broadband router. (You can click here to see what Linksys, one of the best name brands, has to offer.) You'll hook that up to your broadband connection, and plug your main computer into it. You can also wire the second computer up to the router, as wired tends to be more reliable than wireless. Then, for the computer upstairs you'll need a PCI wireless adapter. (The available options are further down the page under Adapters...the WMP54G and WMP54GS are both good.) Instructions will come with the products, or can be downloaded from the respective product pages.

Hope this helps,
John
