Question

Shadow/smudge on Samsung 40" LED TV

Apr 18, 2016 2:47AM PDT

I have a small smudge/shadow on my TV screen. The TV is less than a year old and I can take it back to the store I bought it from if it's faulty - they have great customer service. But I don't want to take it back if the problem can be easily fixed my end.

The shadow isn't totally black - the image is still there, just a lot darker. It's about the size of a fingernail.

It's at the bottom of the screen. I am very careful with how I touch/use the TV - never leave it on a still image too long.

Sorry about the image links - couldn't work out how to insert them properly.

Do not wait on this one.

It looks like a failed LCD and that panel is more than half the cost of a set. Return or have repaired ASAP.

Please go to Menu>Support>Self Diagnosis and run a picture test. If you're able to see the shadow in the picture test please call in or shoot us an e-mail at qasupport@sea.samsung.com to process a service request.
